Osceola Water Works is proud to be able to offer customers many convenient options for paying utility bills. It is our goal to make timely bill payment as easy as possible, whether that means customers mail in the payment, slip it in one of the two drop boxes in our parking lot, or stop in the office between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm.
As the Osceola community continues to grow, the option to pay bills online has become an increasingly popular choice. Since Osceola Water Works first started using this service in July of 2013, the cost of each transaction has fallen to OWW for payment. Unfortunately, with the number of customers paying online with a credit or debit card growing each month, this cost is becoming an expense that doesn’t fit the budget for Osceola Water Works.
In an attempt to continue to provide the best service to our customers, the Osceola Water Works Board is considering the necessary transfer of the transaction fees to the customer. Each transaction carries a minimum of $2.00 fee, which adds up with the volume of customers using the online payment service. If each customer using the debit/credit card option covers their own $2.00 transaction fee, this will greatly reduce the burden on the Osceola Water Works budget. This will allow us to continue with needed updates and with providing the freshest, safest, best tasting water possible.
While this decision has not been made yet, the Osceola Water Works Board will be discussing and acting on this option at the meeting being held February 2nd at the Water Works Office at 208 West Jefferson Street starting at 5:30pm. The public is invited to attend this meeting to share thoughts and concerns regarding this proposal.
